As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate, determined and resilient Health & Safety Manager for our Clinical Services Division who wants to make a difference in the areas that we work in as well as within their career.


Job Opportunity

The Health & Safety Manager role will specifically support our Prometheus (Birmingham) and Mountain Healthcare (Stevenage) businesses within the RCI Group providing a full Health and Safety remit to each business whilst helping to drive the businesses forward.

Some key responsibilities include:

·     Developing and implementing a robust health and safety management system for both companies promoting the delivery of high standards of health and safety management

·       Creating a positive culture around H&S and ensuring compliance of H&S across the companies

·       Carry out and ensure compliance with risk assessments”, conduct audits of all sites as required by legislation

·       Recommend and implement control measures and advise on the standard of PPE issued to employees

·       To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the

findings on the relevant NHSE forms, Incident Logs and RIDDOR

·       Conduct/organise relevant health and safety training for staff as required, including first aid and fire safety.


·       Identify areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or HSE guidance. Arrange such training/certification once identified.

Previous experience working at this level is required along with a recognised industry qualification. The head offices are based at Stevenage and Birmingham and so travel will be required along with hybrid working.


Essential Skills

• Experience in Health & Safety at work

•NEBOSH qualified

• Understanding of working within a regulated environment – eg CQC or HMICFRS

• Strong auditing experience

• Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other

legislation relevant to MH’s business.

• Professional in their approach to dealing with issues and employees.

• Appreciation of confidentiality and discretion.

• Strong organisational or administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.

• IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook essential.

• The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people, both on the phone and face-to-face.
