We are looking for Healthcare Assistants interested in Bank work. Being a Bank worker gives you flexibility to pick up shifts around your other commitments and only requires a minimum of 4 hours (average) per week. The majority of shifts will be during evenings and overnights.

Main duties of the job

Healthcare Assistants at NEMS work as part of the team, providing clinicalsupport to the multidisciplinary team and to assist other members of the teamto ensure a high standard of patient care.

You will work under the supervision of aclinician and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, as well as being responsible for performing specific duties includingbasic vital observations.

As a Healthcare Assistant at NEMS you will also undertake basic housekeeping duties asdirected by the clinician in charge and have a flexible approach to shiftpatterns and service needs which may involve working in different areas orcross site working.

Job responsibilities

MainDuties of The Job:

To work efficiently and professionally with the multidisciplinaryteam to provide a safe and efficient service to all service users and theircarer. To competently undertake and record(and after appropriate training) base line observations: - Temperature

Act as first point of contact withpatients and/or their carer, maintaining oversight of the waiting room. To liaise with clinicians over theappropriate prioritisation of patients in the waiting room, utilisingrecommended early warning scores such as PEWS (Paediatric Early Warning Score)or NEWS2 (National Early Warning Score). Able to work under minimalsupervision but fully aware when to escalate concerns to a registeredhealthcare professional. Recognising changes in patients observations/conditionand reporting them to the nurse in charge/ appropriate registered healthcareprofessional. Assisting with patient treatmentincluding patient dressings, chaperone and during any medical emergencies, To feedback, report and escalate asappropriate the condition and welfare, including safeguarding, of patients tothe appropriate clinician.
