Working Part time : 35 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Learning and Organisational Development team at the Countess of Chester Hospital due to an internal secondment. This role is a fixed term position until March on 35 hours as a Senior Learning and Organisational Development Manager.

Job Summary

The Senior Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) Manager role leads the delivery of a high-profile, proactive and professional Learning & OD service for the Trust. The aim of the service is to improve organisational health, effectiveness and performance through developing and supporting our workforce and organisational culture. This is achieved via a programme of specialist activity that aligns with the Trusts Leadership Framework, Talent and Succession Planning strategy and the National NHS People Promises. The role includes the design and delivery of leadership development, talent management, cultural development initiatives including the embedding our values, behaviours and civility standards, team development, coaching & mentoring, a variety of staff engagement initiatives, change management, behavioural change interventions and other programmes of development activity.

The post holder will be required to work autonomously to plan and prioritise their own work and identify, diagnose and plan pragmatic and tailored solutions to enable services to improve their performance and increase staff engagement.

Main duties of the job

Work with the Head of Leadership, Talent and Skills to design and develop operational plans to deliver the trusts Leadership and Talent StrategiesProvide specialist expertise across all areas of Learning and Organisational Development including: appraisals, talent management, leadership development programmes, organisational culture, staff engagement, reward & recognition, team development, human dimensions of change, coaching/ mentoring and support of individuals.Effectively managing a broad range of leadership and management development activities and programmes offered by the Learning and OD team. This includes the quality of materials, developing new programmes, fast paced roll out, determining impact and reporting on progress.Work as an internal consultant working in partnership with key senior leaders across the Trust using high level communication and influencing skills to co- create solutions, analyse and manage the feedback of complex and sometimes contentious information resulting from workstreams such as surveys and team diagnostics.Make proposals to the Head Leadership, Talent and Skills for change projects; facilitating interventions that support change management and enable service and cultural change.Support the cultural development of the organisation to ensure our values of Safe, Kind and Effective are demonstrated along with our behavioural standards and the Trusts Civility Charter.
