White Medical Group in Ponteland are looking for anorganised, hardworking and enthusiastic, part-time Medical Secretary to join our adminteam
** NOTE INTERVIEW DATE: MONDAY 10th JUNE ***
The Medical Secretary is primarily responsible forundertaking secretarial duties to the clinical team.
A sound professional working relationship will berequired with the GPs and staff working within the Practice. The role requireshigh levels of organisation and excellent interpersonal skills.
DAYS OF WORK: Monday to Friday hours per week
HOURS OF WORK: hours per day, 9:30am-4:30pm (negotiable)
Main duties of the job
The role includes a requirement for:
Fast and accurate typing/ Word Processing skills
Constructing professional/accurate correspondence from GP notes
Acting as the central point of contact for clinicals staff and patients with referral queries
Liaising with multi-professional team members and external agencies to support referrals and follow up information
Familiarity with EMIS Web clinical software systems/ eReferral systems
Understanding of secondary care clinics and specialities

White Medical Groupis a dispensing practice with a patient list size of over 8000 across our mainsite in Ponteland and branch site in clinical teamconsists of 7 GPs, 3 nurses, 1 HCA, andan extensive administrative, reception and dispensing team workingtoassist the clinicalteam.
We are looking toappoint a new part-time Medical Secretary with excellent communication andorganisational skills, with previous experience as a Medical Secretary, who cancomplement our supportive admin team.

a. Typingletters, reports, and constructing professional/accurate correspondence from GPnotes
b. Liaisingwith external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuringreferrals are processed efficiently
c. Managing allenquiries in an effective manner
d. Maintainingan accurate referrals database
e. Actioningall incoming email as appropriate
f. Processing relevantletters as requeste
h. Inputtingdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
i. Processingreferrals using the electronic referral system (ERS), entering into theappropriate clinic/specialit
k. Clinicallycoding data on EMIS as required
l. Answeringincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
m. Managing alladministrative queries as necessary
n. Carrying outsystem searches as requested
o. Maintaininga clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
p. Supportingall clinical staff with general secretarial tasks as requested
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
-Educated to GCSE or equivalent with minimum of Maths and English at Grade C or above. -Touch typing/other typing/word processing qualification
Desirable
-Medical Secretarial course/diploma -Medical Terminology course
