Job summary
The post holder will be required to undertake duties as appropriate including reception, making appointments, answering telephone enquiries, and assist in the co-ordination of waiting lists. The post holder will undertake other admin duties deemed appropriate within the department.
Main duties of the job
There is a requirement to respond to external and internal telephone queries from staff, patients and others.
The post holder will deal with telephone calls relating to general patient enquiries and queries pertaining to medical notesRegistration of patients on relevant databases and ensuring all patient data, both clinical and personal, is electronically and accurately recordedSupport information delivery; this may include printing out information and assisting people accessing electronic information prescriptions
Co-ordinate appropriate outpatient and/or diagnostic appointmentsManage workload and liaise with colleagues in periods of annual leave and sicknessMaintain an accurate database of patients including systems to track interval investigations and monitor incoming health status information from patients using the systemUse databases and computer packages to initiate and maintain records and generate statistics for analytical purposes.
