As a MechanicalEngineeron Industrial Placementyou will be responsible for providing engineering support andworking in a group primarily consisting of mechanical design engineers.You will participate in projects for the design of mechanical and opto-mechanical hardware to support visual display products with guidance from technical leads.

Primary Responsibilities:

Creation of assembly drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and technical documentation in accordance with company quality procedures. 

Update drawings and documentation from vendor and installation feedback. 

Review specifications and other data to develop preliminary mechanical layouts leading to detail design.

Contribute to the development of new products as well as modify existing products or processes to increase efficiency or improve performance.

Liaison with internal customers, equipment suppliers and subcontractors associated with programs.

Contribute to internal design reviews and be prepared to present design.

Basic Qualifications:

Studying for a degree(or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Experience:

3-d CAD experience using an industry recognised product. SolidWorks will be the software used for mechanical design and detailing.

Familiarity with relevant components of BS8888 which are required to produce CAD drawings for manufacture.

Understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes required for machined and fabricated parts.
