  • You will help to ensure that Walsingham Support's care is of high quality and person-centred. As a Support Worker you will help to ensure that care is tailored to the needs of each individual and based on their lifestyle.
  • As a Support Worker, it is your duty to ensure a high quality and well maintained environment for those we support.
  • Each Support Worker is expected to work from a care plan, providing help with day to day living tasks. This might include personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, providing emotional support, social interaction and visits to activities in their communities.

The two services at Overend are different in many ways

48 Overend is 1:1 for the full 24 hours and staff are to require assisting with all daily living such as making food assisting with personal care, doing the shopping and ordering of medication. The PWS has epilepsy so staff need to be aware of this and to understand this condition.

50 Overend is down for 2:1 but not for the full day so the PWS has 2:1 from 9-5 and then from 5 it is down to 1:1. Again staff assist with all living tasks such as cleaning the house and doing the cooking ordering the shopping and going for the shopping. Ordering and collecting medication and administering the medication. This PWS can present some challenging behaviours so staff need to be able to deal with situations that can change every quickly and be able to manage the behaviours.

Both PWS have their own cars and staff would need to take them out in the car when they are needed
