We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Foundry Team Leader within our growing Foundry Team.

In a nutshell you will be responsible for:

Being the person in the department to set the high standard of work and cleanliness and to lead the team by setting the example for them to follow. You will be responsible for one of our key value streams, ensuring the efficiency and effective day to day running within your area of the business.

What you are already great at:


  • Providing leadership, direction, and support to our operative within the team in order to achieve agreed targets and deadlines.
  • Working closely with the Management Team to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the department, while ensuring that we maintain Quality standards and adherence to specifications.
  • Carry out Team Briefing at the start of each shift, ensuring KPI’s are discussed, and issues resolved.
  • Responsible for the team being ready to commence manufacturing at the start of the shift and run in accordance with KPI’s and yields, including pre-start up checks and reporting any labour issues immediately to the Assistant Supervisor.
  • Plan, organise and manage labour resources to ensure the Production Plan is met.
  • Work constructively with all areas of the business.
  • Maintain Health, Safety, and quality standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
  • Controlling Work in Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods inventories.
  • Managing responsibilities within the value stream for all tasks in order to meet delivery production targets, highlighting any areas of concern to the management team.
  • Recognise and respond proactively on any trends in rejects and other quality issues. Also recognising and report failings in skills, equipment or procedures.
  • Identifying and undertaking corrective actions on deviations.
  • Analysing key issues affecting equipment within your area of responsibility and taking or organising corrective action.
  • Assisting where necessary and support with any foundry & soldering tooling, new product development issues the team might have.
  • Ensuring all operators are working on clearing the oldest shortages which take priority over other work, once the shortages are complete Then clear the oldest works orders first. (Report Issues)
  • Ensuring operators only produce the qty requested by the works order, any over production must be authorised.
  • Kiting soldering works orders as and when required.
  • Ensuring the empty trays are filled in the correct order and the trays are being filled with the correct parts.
  • Ensuring all completed soldering work is pressure tested & inspected and sent to the stores daily for booking in.
  • Developing new foundry & soldering tooling as and when required.
  • Ensuring all foundry & soldering tooling is maintained and managed.
  • Maintain foundry & soldering tooling & consumable stock levels, order weekly when required.
  • Conduct Regular machine inspections and procedure audits / inspections and report any issues.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:


  • Previous experience of working within a KPI framework.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Have a clear understanding of people management, Health & Safety, and quality systems.
  • Results driven and ability to improve performance within the department.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to drive performance and develop the team.
  • Be able to demonstrate Leadership skills, be confident and committed and able to accept responsibility.
  • Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English is essential in this role as is the ability to operate computers and computer software.
  • Be able to develop effective working relationships with all departments.
