Warrington, United Kingdom AECOM Full time
Job Description

Start here. Grow here.

“Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of the Nuclear Industry?”

Our Nuclear Team is at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and safety in the nuclear industry, driving impactful projects that shape the future of energy.  There is no better time to join our expanding Nuclear Energy Team, contributing to a diverse portfolio of international and UK-based decommissioning and new build projects. We are seeking enthusiastic professionals to play key roles in the team's growth and success.

You will have the vision, passion and track record required to continue the growth of our engineering team offering, undertaking a business development role as well as engineering design role. You will be a part of the continued development of a strong and growing team to whom you will provide leadership and robust management. This is an exciting time for the Nuclear Power & Decommissioning team with an interesting and expanding pipeline of nuclear projects.

Our Warrington office supports and provides an array of consultancy services to various diverse clients, including:

  • Defence sector: Providing multi-disciplinary new build support to various clients.
  • MoD: Supporting the Nuclear CASD by providing new facilities around the UK.
  • Defence Infrastructure Organisation: Delivering comprehensive engineering solutions.
  • Nuclear new build sector: Offering engineering support to the developers of the UK’s fleet of new nuclear power stations.
  • Decommissioning Sector: Supporting the entire Nuclear Estate with extensive new build requirements to enable decommissioning.

Example Project: One confidential project involved designing and building a completely new facility, from site surveys and infrastructure planning to equipment integration and final construction. This project utilised modular technology to provide a flexible and fast solution, challenging the traditional approach to building and infrastructure design, reducing on-site labour-intensive work, and shifting risk to offsite build and commissioning. By leveraging the latest CAD & BIM technology, we ensured seamless integration of all design disciplines.

Here’s what you’ll do:

As a Technical Project Engineer within the Warrington Nuclear Department, you will be responsible for delivering design and engineering projects, working with engineers and technicians to complete tasks. You will work independently and as part of a team, liaising with multi-disciplinary engineers to ensure a complete and unified design.

  • Project Management: Assigned as a resource to projects, responsible for delivery of design & engineering tasks.
  • Interfacing & Integration: Working across technical disciplines to provide interfacing and integration support.
  • Quality Assurance: Supporting Quality Assurance activities associated with delivery of documentation.
  • Equipment Assurance: Attending equipment assurance activities such as Factory Acceptance Testing, Inspections, and Technical reviews.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Working with project supply chain partners to deliver efficiently to project specifications and technical requirements.
  • Subcontractor Monitoring: Attending subcontractor sites to monitor progress and quality against requirements.

Come grow with us.

Become part of our dynamic nuclear team, which boasts a team of leading and innovating industry experts.
