The Pre-Operations Manager will the Westinghouse Pre-Operations (Pre-Ops) capability.
Your Day-to-Day:
Support business development through:
• Input to tenders by defining the Operability and Maintainability (O&M) scope, schedule, cost and arrangements required.
• Producing and managing a Pre-Ops Case Study library.
• Recruitment to support projects and future work demands.
• Mentoring Pre-Ops Team Members.
Support specific project delivery through:
• Input of O&M requirements into Project Processes (Design, HAZOP, Risk, Contract, Schedule, and Estimate).
• Definition and implementation of the O&M arrangements required at project completion / active start (O&M Organisation, Training, Management System, Manufacturing / EIM&T Schedules, and Materials / Spares logistics).
• Confirm achievement of required O&M criteria for taking plant into active commissioning.
• The Pre-Ops Manager also provides the knowledge, leadership, management, and support required to ensure Pre-Ops work scope is executed to meet the Client’s company, legal, regulatory and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Project Planning
Monitor project timelines and identify potential delays. Take corrective actions to keep the project on schedule. Monitor the Pre-Ops progress reporting any new milestone achievements or project delays to the customer. Deliver the Pre-Ops work scope to an agreed strategy and plan in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensure O&M requirements are adequately considered in Project Processes (Design, HAZOP, Risk, Contract, Schedule and Estimate).Team Leadership
Line manager duties for supervision and performance of direct reports and team members (Control of work task/assignments – supervised, able, trained & competent to do assigned tasks). Address design challenges and conflicts that may arise during the project. Facilitate creative problem-solving within the team.Health, Safety and Quality Assurance
To ensure that all team members are aware of and understand relevant Legislation, Client and project-specific policies, procedures, and design issues. Establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables. To promote and facilitate best practice for the sharing of LFE between the project and the Client. Ensuring a proactive and balanced approach to safety (nuclear, radiological, conventional & environmental) to ensure that safety is optimized.Risk Management
Carry out effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities. Identify and assess potential risks that may impact the project using a risk and opportunities register. Prioritize risks based on their potential impact and likelihood. Implement proactive measures to reduce the likelihood and impact of identified risks. Continuously monitor and reassess risks throughout the project. Adjust mitigation strategies and plans as needed based on changing circumstances.Stakeholder Engagement
Managing day to day liaison with personnel/stakeholders to obtain any necessary permissions and minimize impact to the project.Cost and Schedule
Review Pre-Ops work progress and performance and taking appropriate corrective actions where necessary. Plan, balance and prioritize Pre-Ops resources to support successful project execution.Who You Are:
