GSL Education London is seeking a SEN Learning Mentor for one of its vibrant and inclusive client schools located in Hackney. The role requires someone who is very dedicated and compassionate about mentoring SEN children. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Assist in the development and delivery of SEN training and resources for staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably within an educational setting.
- A relevant qualification in education, child development, or a related field is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of current SEN legislation and best practices.
