The role:

An opportunity has arisen for a successful candidate to join a dynamic and exciting visual arts department delivering a range of general art, design and media-based programs from Level 2 - Level 4. You will have a good understanding of digital based visual practice within a wider visual arts delivery and be familiar with the wider specialist area of Digital Arts and knowledge of film, animation, and digital based graphics.

You will have knowledge of the following  Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Premiere and After Effects software. Knowledge of digital files management; printing, file set up, colour profiles and digital post-editing. A knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Blender, would also be an advantage. 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • To undertake a teaching programme and all aspects of the teaching and learning process.
  • To act as a Course Leader for designated course(s).
  • To assist the relevant Manager(s) in the management and review of the curriculum in accordance with College policies.
  • To participate in liaison activities associated with the programme area and those relating to the Faculty’s and College provision.
  • Develop and maintain professional competence in the post and in other duties performed on behalf of the Faculty or, the College.

Skills/Experience:

  • Delivery and assessment experience of University of Arts (UAL) based courses.
  • Expertise and specialism in design-based packages including the use and application of photoshop, illustrator and premier pro.
  • Expertise in Digital Graphic Skills, Animation and film time based media specialist.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Minimum level 4 qualification in the relevant area of expertise (Art & Design).
  • Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving))
  • Assessor and Moderator/IV Award.
