About the role

As clinical research fellow, you will be able to work on an exciting research project in scleroderma with a focus on understanding disease mechanisms through systematic analysis of tissue and blood samples using the latest molecular analysis platforms and bioinformatics. The post is funded through a major academic research grant award to UCL from Abbvie to examine novel biomarkers and undertake cutting-edge clinical and laboratory research in systemic sclerosis.

In addition to undertaking a specific research project which could form the basis for a higher research degree the post-holder will receive outstanding opportunities to train in management of complex connective tissue disease.

This role is an open-ended contract with a funding end date of 14/05/ in the first instance.

About you

This will be a key post within a successful basic science and clinical research team with full training and support for the postholder in relevant techniques and research methods. Therefore, it would suit a rheumatology trainee interesting in developing research skills and experience in the field of scleroderma (systemic sclerosis) in a renowned and productive clinical and research environment.

The successful candidate is expected to have a medical degree along with a full GMC registration, and relevant experience in connective tissue disease management.

You should also have excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong ability to organise and prioritise your workload.
