Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Salary: Competitive, to scale
Contract: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs? We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at a highly supportive and inclusive secondary SEN school in Bolton. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with students who present a range of needs, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate and Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (MLD & PMLD), Global Development Delays, and Down’s Syndrome.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student.
  • Marking and assessment of student work, ensuring progress is regularly tracked and communicated.
  • Differentiating curriculum content and implementing strategies that support the development of skills and learning outcomes for students with various special needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and regularly reviewing these to align with each student’s progress and evolving needs.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience working in an SEN setting.
  • A compassionate, patient approach, with excellent communication skills to engage students, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and the ethos of inclusive education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
