We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our fantastic special educational needs in Exeter, providing outstanding education and care for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be working at a small, all-boys school, working with students across KS2 - KS4. You will be working as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting the classroom teacher and working closely to support students with their academic and emotional wellbeing.


 

The school is an incredible provision, providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment for young boys who may not have had the best start in life. You will be working with young people with challenging behavioural needs as they may have experienced trauma, have ADHD or autism, amongst other needs.

Our school is diligent in supporting the wellbeing of their staff. Full training and support is provided, you have daily safeguarding meetings before and after school and counselling is provided to all staff. You will be part of a friendly, close-knit and supportive team.


 

Previous experience in education is desirable but not essential. A background in a care setting provides excellent foundations to be successful in this role. You will be working Monday to Friday, term time only. It is essential that you have an excellent work ethic as you will be constantly supervising the young people, even having lunch with them.
