Tasks

Werelooking for an experienced software engineer to join our team andhelp with the ongoing development of our web and mobileapplications alongside helping to develop our infrastructure andtooling.

This isour first onshore technical hire and we expect to expand thetechnical team further in the UK which you will support orlead.

You will leadour efforts to develop new features and get our infrastructureready for scale.

Our APIs are built in C# and Nodeand our offshore developers will continue to support thedevelopment of the backend services with guidance fromyou.

We have somefairly significant projects coming up: implementing Terraform andIaC; building out our data storage solutions and optimising Azure(with the support of our 3rd party agency).

Our DevOps pipelines need to bedeveloped further and you could be handson or oversee a more juniorspecialised DevOps engineer.

Right now we have one database inMySQL which is likely to be supplemented with further datalakes tomaximise the commercial return from the valuable data we hold aboutour customers and their vehicles.

This is a role with a broad remitthat you will be able to shape we are happy to support learning anddevelopment in any areas that would benefit you.

We offer flexible working hoursand many staff choose to work 4 days per week with Fridays off. Weare set up for you to deliver your best work remotely and we tendto meet up once a month inBirmingham.

Requirements

Firstand foremost you must already have experience working as a softwareengineer with significant ownership and influence.

Its crucial you understand backendarchitecture in C# or Node (ideally both) any frontend experiencewith React would also be useful.

Youll need to have worked on cloudplatforms before and some of your past experience must haveincluded Azure.

Itsalso important that you have previously used Terraform to buildscalable infrastructure.

You must have a solidunderstanding of databases. We use MySQL but any previous SQLexperience will be fine. Youll need to be able to write SQL queriesand implement best practices across the large data sets wehold.

If you haventbuilt CI/CD pipelines from scratch before well want to hear how youdeployed your code and any work you did to optimise pipelines inpast roles.

Youshould be familiar with a range of testing approaches and becomfortable writing your own tests and collaborating withdevelopers to help them improve theirs too.

Well want to hear about themonitoring tools you have used and which metrics you found mostuseful to measure.
