Highly visible, varied and collaborative role supporting the Underwriting Strategy Manager who in turn provides trusted advice to the Chief Underwriting Officer.

Supporting projects that deliver the CUO’s accountabilities and key business priorities across the Function, Corporation and Market, whilst working closely with colleagues across the underwriting division to ensure active syndicate and class level performance oversight against Syndicate Business Plans and Forecasts.

Accountabilities:

Analyse data and produce material for C-suite audience as well as external engagement including rating agencies and speaking events Assist Syndicate Performance, Class Underwriting Performance and Solutions and Delegated Authority Performance in their delivery of performance management oversight and project based work Analyse data from syndicates, both at the direction of the Underwriting Strategy Manager as well as independently, to draw out pertinent performance insights.  Work closely with those in other Lloyd’s teams including but not limited to Exposure Management, Outwards Reinsurance, Capital, and Reserving to facilitate a joined-up approach to oversight of syndicates.  Create or contribute to briefing papers for senior staff ahead of syndicate interactions.  Optimise the team’s use of data and systems, working closely with the Portfolio Analytics team. Including creation of reports and MI. Become a super-user for key systems.  Review Underwriting risks and run controls to ensure the team is working as intended, ensuring that the agreed control processes and tools are effectively used for the oversight of underwriting risks and product line performance, including escalating issues appropriately.
