REPORTS TO: Production & Planning Manager
Job Purpose:
They will be a result’s driven individual who strives to continually improve the performance of the night shift whilst adopting a safety-first culture. Emphasis needs to be on building a team that takes pride in producing a quality product that is delivered to site to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Having responsibility for all night shift operational activity across 3 sites it is essential that the Night shift manager is a strong communicator and has experience on man management.
Key Accountabilities:
• Promotes and manages a health and safety culture across sites. Ensuring all activities on site comply with H&S regulations and guidelines. Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensure all product produced on and leaving site meets the agreed quality standards
• Ensure site is running at maximum efficiency and fully achieving production plans
• Ensure site is running in line with budget requirements and targets
• Working with all departments across the business to instill and develop a continuous improvement ethic that focuses on driving down cost and improving quality
• Maintains a high level of employee motivation by working closely with all employees to develop a highly communicative team where employees are made fully aware of business performance and activities. Also ensure any issues or problems either personal or work related are supported and resolved.
• Lead and champion projects that deliver improvements to site performance and employee engagement
• Create and present reports detailing site performance to all team members across all levels of the business structure
• Lead and champion Root cause analysis projects to ensure any quality issues are resolved with a permanent fix put in place.
• Maintain T&A records for Site. Ensure all absence is managed effectively in line with company policy.
• Ensure material stocks are managed and used effectively
• Maintain Manufacturing compliance to standards including a clean, safe environment for all employees
Key Experiences:
• Proven experience as Leader/Manager or relevant role leading a team focussed on manual processes
• Familiarity with company policies, legal guidelines, and Health & Safety regulations
• Good knowledge of IT systems
• Knowledge GRP Manufacturing process preferred
• Proven experience of driving through successful improvement and change management projects
• Proven experience of root cause analysis and putting permanent fixes in place
• Ability to interpret and understand KPI’s and data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDesirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:
• ILM level 3 in Leadership and Management
• COSHH and risk assessment trained
