KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

To oversee and take accountability of all project related MEP services issues to include:

·Tendering and procurement of the MEP packages

·Management of all aspects of the MEP Subcontractors works from Tender stage through to project completion.

·Management of all elements of specialist packages i.e. lift installation, Fire Alarm, BMS etc.

·Planning of the works including Design, Procurement, Installation, commissioning and Handover phases in line with Mace procedures

·Commercial management – Execution of the MEP subcontractors contract, management of the variation account or input as required for the project surveyor to achieve the same

·Ensure that Mace MEP procedures are fully implemented on each project

·Undertake monthly project audits in line with Mace procedures

·Monitor the works and undertake regular subcontractors progress meetings

·Undertake any safety training as required to fulfil the job role and carry out site duties

·Work with the MEP director as necessary to assist in the development of procedures and best practices both internally and with our MEP supply chain

·Ensure that works are undertaken in a safe manor in line with company practice, current legislation and good practices, review method statements and risk assessments and undertake regular site safety observations.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

·Good engineering knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, BMS & Public Health systems supported by qualifications.

·Commercial awareness

·Planning skills

·MEP systems commissioning knowledge

·Tendering and Procurement

·Engineering of plant and equipment

·Design coordination

·Standard forms of Contract

·Good presentation skills

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

·HNC in Building Services Engineering – Minimum

·Degree in Building Services Engineering – Preferred

·The Applicant may be biased to a particular discipline, i.e. Mechanical or Electrical

·Minimum 5 Day SMSTS course and appropriate CSCS skill card

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

·Management of MEP works.

·Working Knowledge of MEP procedures and best practice

·Aviation or Rail experience preferred but not essential.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

·Good communication and motivational skills

·Confident, flexible and calm under pressure

·Proactive and self-motivated
