Princess Yachts are currently recruiting for a Field Support Technician to work at our Newport Street site in Plymouth.

 

 

Field Support Technician

Job Family: Aftersales

5 day week

(Mon to Thurs 7.30am to 4.30pm, Fri 7.30am to 12.30pm)

Salary: Circa £50,000 Depending on experience

Must have a valid passport and able to travel extensively – globally

Must have a valid driving license

 

 

Main goals and objectives

To investigate and document the condition of a vessel or a quality concern on behalf of the business

To undertake rectification works authorised by the business both in the UK and Overseas

To be represent the business in a professional and courteous manner at all times, being respectful of customers, their yacht(s) and the circumstances that require intervention by Princess Yachts Limited.

Responsibilities/ Tasks

Field Support

  • Carry out high quality works in line with GWI and best practice
  • To be respectful of the yacht, ensuring access routes and working areas are fully protected prior to works commencing
  • To ensure that all waste is disposed of in accordance with local regulations and that the yacht is cleaned prior to sign off
  • Liaising with Distributors and PYL colleagues to determine the scope of works and deliver Fix First Time
  • Working onboard yachts in marinas, shipyards or private residences
  • Travelling for extended periods of time and working out of hours to complete jobs in agreed timeframes
  • Travelling at short notice.

 

Fix First Time

  • Audit or testing of vessels to establish the condition and scope of works required
  • Determine the parts, materials, equipment, facilities and timeframe required to undertake the required works
  • Ensuring all parts, materials, equipment and facilities are in place prior to commencement of works

 

HS&E

  • Being responsible for your personal safety when auditing a vessel or undertaking works and the safety of your colleagues or other persons onboard the vessel
  • Understand and follow the companies H&SE policies when working offsite; liaising with direct managers to minimise risks or concerns
  • Ensure all personal contact details are valid prior to travel
  • Ensure all relevant Insurance certificates & VISA requirements are in place.
  • Know the Out of Hours contacts

 

Reporting

  • Provide regular updates to direct managers on the progress of audits or works
  • Field Reports to document a vessel condition pre & post works, detailing the root cause of defects & repair process(s)
  • Document any other concerns found and report to direct managers

 

Main Competency

    • Comprehensive knowledge of and familiarity with:
      • Princess Model range
      • Princess Build Standards & Processes
      • Electrical and Mechanical systems installed on Princess craft
      • GRP & Carpentry processes
