Start here. Grow here.
Do you have a passion for net zero and carbon reduction? Want to play a crucial role in our Water team?
Join our dynamic, multidisciplinary Water Engineering team as an Engineering Lead (Carbon Reduction) in our expanding offices in Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Chesterfield, Birmingham, Croydon, St Albans, and Basingstoke. Take advantage of our flexible hybrid working model and be part of AECOM, a leader in innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programs and projects through long-term partnerships with major UK&I water companies such as Caledonian Water Alliance (Scottish Water), Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Uisce Eireann (formerly Irish Water), Wessex Water, and the Environment Agency.
As our Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for technical leadership to reduce whole life carbon in our designs across our water sector project portfolio. Projects include waste and clean water treatment and pipeline projects for utility companies and flood risk management and environmental improvement schemes internationally.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Lead and Innovate: Guide and upskill our teams to reduce carbon in our designs, challenge the norm, and introduce innovative solutions.
- Make a Practical Impact: Utilize your engineering expertise and collaborate with fellow technical leaders to minimize the carbon footprint of our designs. Influence how we support our clients in achieving their net zero goals.
- Be a Carbon Expert: Stay informed about all aspects of carbon in the water sector, including operational emissions, embodied carbon, renewables, bioresources, sequestration, and nature-based solutions.
- Collaborate Globally: Work closely with other disciplines within AECOM, sharing best practices across our business and end markets. Engage with our global technical practice network to bring international best practices to our UK&I clients.
If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just construct infrastructure but also uplift communities and enhance lives. Why not give our AECOM Water page on LinkedIn a follow to stay updated on the impactful projects we're working on and see firsthand the difference we're making in the industry
Come grow with us.
Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 670 experts across the UK & Ireland. We focus on business growth and skills development to deliver a strong and secured pipeline of work, so this role offers significant scope for personal development and a long and rewarding career in the AECOM business. You will be a key part of AECOM's ESG leadership group which links nationally and globally, promoting carbon reduction, nature-based solutions, environmental, and social benefits on projects. Your work as a leader will drive change and create sustainable project legacies. At AECOM, you’ll thrive in an inclusive and forward-thinking environment where your contributions are valued.
