Job summary

We are looking for a Highly Specialist Systemic & Family Psychotherapist who is able to demonstrate a commitment to creative engagement with a culturally diverse population of young people, shows initiative, is a team player and is able to communicate ideas clearly to both professionals and young people alike.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge, competence and an interest in working with children who present with complex mental health needs is essential for the role. The Highly Specialist Systemic & Family Psychotherapist will also need to be flexible and have the necessary skills and experience to provide high quality care that is both evidence based and client focussed.

You will offer a comprehensive and high-quality specialist service to looked after children and young people as well as the network around them. This will include offering a consultation service to the child's social worker and network around them as well as assessment and intervention.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

Post-graduate training in systemic family therapists as accredited by IFT or AFT. Professional registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Relevant first profession experience or the equivalent ( criteria laid down by UKCP for "grandparent" and "APEL" route to qualification as Family Therapists)

Desirable

Training in CYP/IAPT Systemic supervision training

Experience

Essential

Substantial length of practice in relevant first profession Significant experience of work with children and adolescents in a mental health or equivalent setting Experience of teaching, supervision and/or consultation Experience of research and audit
