About The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity in students' learning. You’ll cover lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged, focused, and on track with their studies. Whether you’re supervising a class during a teacher's absence or providing additional support in the classroom, you’ll be making a real difference to students' academic experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise students during lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure that students stay engaged with the set work and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the school’s policies.
• Provide support to students as needed, offering encouragement and assistance with tasks.
• Assist with any administrative duties related to the lesson, such as collecting and distributing materials.
• Report any issues or concerns regarding student behavior or lesson progress to the school management team.

Requirements of the Cover Supervisor:

• A proactive and confident approach to managing classrooms and engaging students.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and classroom environments.
• Excellent organisational skills and a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of student behavior and academic progress.

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV and two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
