Group Finance Controller (FTC) 6 months - International Hospitality Group, London (Hybrid)

This group has been operating in the Hospitality scene for almost 20 years. Not only do they operate some incredible venues in the UK, but they also have a strong presence with an array of beautiful venues across the world.

The Group FC will provide financial information to the FD for presentation to the Board and external parties. Responsible for the internal control environment and integrity of the Group's financial records. Assisting with the medium and long-term financial strategy for the Group per the business strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Finance Team including developing the appropriate structure, roles & responsibilities, job descriptions, performance measurement criteria and training and development needs.
  • Taking the lead in implementing company policies affecting the team.
  • Assisting in the formulation of the Company's financial and business strategy in accordance with the medium- and long-term objectives determined by the Board
  • Providing all statutory financial information for all group companies as per legal requirements including annual report and accounts. Directly responsible for the consolidated position.
  • Providing all management accounts for all group companies including commentary on performance, KPIs and budget/forecast variances. Directly responsible for the consolidated position.
  • Managing and reporting on group cash flow and treasury arrangements - including variances to plan, funding requirements
  • Manage group audit appointments, ensure audits are completed in a timely fashion and to fee budgets, minimise audit assurance risk
  • Assisting with preparing and submitting business plans and formulating budgets and forecasts to the Board.
  • Managing and optimising the group tax position for corporate, payroll and VAT to mitigate tax risk.
  • Managing and controlling all financial transactions and accountancy matters, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and including audit systems for the Group
  • Develop, implement and maintain group accounting policies & procedures ensuring consistency of application across the group
  • Direct responsibility for the integrity of the parent & dormant companies
  • Ensure that the finance infrastructure is robust, properly maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Pro-actively seek opportunities to develop the transaction processing and accounting environment with the aim of achieving standard processes wherever possible and more efficient operation.
  • Champion the drive to better STP across the Group
  • Oversight and quality control of all activities within the Group Finance Team(s).
The successful candidate:
  • Able to operate in a small, busy finance team.
  • Able to multitask by handling routine tasks as well as more bespoke one-off projects
  • Can do approach, not precious about whose job it is but will roll their sleeves up and get stuck in
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills are essential
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • A proven track record as a successful Group Financial Controller in the hospitality/retail/ leisure sectors
