What you’ll be doing

Working collaboratively within the Academic Engagement Team: Learning and Teaching, you will be responsible for identifying and undertaking opportunities for Library engagement within and beyond the University. You will coordinate Academic Engagement Team: Learning and Teaching (AET: LT) activities within designated disciplinary areas. You will also collaborate with colleagues to innovatively design and develop academic writing, digital literacy and other study skills resources and co-ordinate and deliver specialist learning and study support content including for delivery through the Virtual Learning Environment. You will take an active role in internal and external quality processes, working to agreed standards to ensure that the provision of relevant learning resources and services are developed to meet the requirements of the University’s quality agenda and those of external bodies. You will also take responsibility for learning and teaching related remit/ areas, both pre-entry and throughout the student lifecycle, contributing to the co-ordination and development of induction and student transition.

What you’ll bring.

You will have an excellent knowledge of developments in Higher Education, with an appreciation of the value of academic literacy and numeracy, and how these academic skills might be developed. You will also bring an in-depth knowledge of pedagogy and modern teaching and learning methods, e-learning developments, and their service delivery implications, with an understanding of the importance of robust evaluation within the team to ensure that provision complements and exceeds activity undertaken by other HE and external providers.

You will have experience of working in an education or training environment having prepared resources for both online and face-to-face delivery, and ideally experience of staff recruitment, training and supervision (and line management).
