ClinicalLead Job Description

Communication/ Relationship skills

toprovide clinical leadership, guidance and support to all clinical staff acrossthe service, including support around disagreements in clinical practice

toensure robust clinical supervision arrangements are in place for all clinicalstaff across the service

toattend Clinical Governance meetings and provide regular updates and assurancein relation to governance of the service

tolead on ensuring a clear focus on patient involvement and patient experienceacross the service, demonstrating both engagement and improvement

Qualifications

Essential

Relevant higher degree MSc, PhD or other additional clinical qualifications. Membership of national professional body. Additional experience / CPD activity relating to nursing and other models of care and treatment for people with complex trauma who may have a diagnosis of personality disorder ( DBT, MBT, Safewards, STEPPS, Structured Clinical Management, Relational Security Explorer) Additional CPD / experience of use of patient safety and quality improvement methodology relevant to the hospital ( PDSA, PSIRF, RCA). Additional CPD / training in healthcare leadership and management and / or clinical supervision. Knowledge of relevant specialist services Proven commitment to improving clinical care Excellent clinical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Able to manage clinical and systemic complexity and uncertainty Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others
