About the Role:

You will deliver exceptional repair services to our campus laboratories. Working closely with a dedicated team, you'll ensure prompt and professional delivery of repairs to meet and exceed customer expectations.


You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring laboratory equipment repairs are coordinated and carried out in a timely and professional manner

  • Using technical knowledge, experience and following defined procedures ensure equipment is calibrated to set standards as required. i.e. pipettes, balances, local exhaust ventilation.

  • Complete electronic Permit to Work documentation for management of non-embedded contractors.

  • Place orders for necessary parts and servicing, charging to appropriate teams


Essential Skills:

  • Qualification in an electrical/mechanical discipline and/or experience in a similar role/equipment repair

  • Good general electrical and mechanical knowledge including the ability to use a multimeter

  • Able to work on own initiative unsupervised and as a member of a team

  • Good understanding of the requirements of calibration, accuracy and precision

  • Skilled at working to fine detail

  • Competent in managing and prioritising a diverse workload

  • Good communication skills developed in a customer-facing service role

  • Ability to document and follow a safe system of work

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs; e.g. Excel, Outlook and Word
