The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title:  Weighbridge Operator - Intake & Dispatch 

Location: Melmerby, North Yorkshire, UK 

Contract & Shift pattern: 6 Months Fixed Term Contract, Day Shift6:00 - 18:00 Monday-Thursday (10hrs) and Friday (8hrs)

We are looking to recruit a Weighbridge Operator to join our production team at our AB Neo mill in Melmerby. This is great opportunity for someone to gain a variety of experience, dealing with the control of all vehicles on and off the site using Avery Weighbridge, Business & MES software. 

As a Weighbridge Operator you are required to actively manage planned intake of raw materials and the dispatch of finished products with quality checks performed on all loads, and raw materials are routed to the correct storage locations.

What you'll be doing:

Adhere to all site and company Health and Safety regulations. To be familiar with the requirements and implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act Maintain any written or computer records required of the job by AB Neo or UFAS operating procedures. Manage planned intakes and dispatch of raw material and finish products. Champion the Continuous Improvement Programmes along with other PDUK and AB Neo improvement initiatives Inspection and sampling of raw materials, carrying out various raw material and finish product testing as required by the Quality team. Setting up the intake system to discharge raw materials to the correct bins. Complete all compliance, traceability, and audit paperwork. Cover for the Logistics & Production Planner & FLT drivers as needed. Carry out weekly fire safety checks and update safety records. Maintenance and good housekeeping of weighbridge and overall site

What you'll bring: 

Excellent communication skills - you will be speaking with people internally and externally via phone, email, and MS Teams. Good IT skills - you will be using different software applications; you must be comfortable learning new systems.  Experience of working in a role where Health and Safety was important. Experience of adhering to Quality Standards  Experience of working within a manufacturing or weighbridge environment would be ideal but not essential.  Forklift truck license would be an advantage but not essential.

Please note due to the rural location of the mill there isn't any public transport, therefore a driving license and access to transport is recommend.
