Job summary

Small practice (approx. 4500 patients) in Havering looking for a full time nurse, Monday to Friday (35 hours). Looking for a friendly nurse who is able to work as a team player. We work from a modern building with our own car park and have a nearby gym and supermarket. We have excellent transportation links via the M25/A12. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and demonstrate excellent knowledge of human anatomy.

Main duties of the job

Duties:

1. Meeting patients nursing care needs as identified, or where care has been transferred to her by a GP.

2. Initiating and maintaining health screening and promotion clinics for identified areas of the practice population.

3. Managing the nursing care of patients with chronic disease,

4. The following clinics:

Asthma / COPD Clinic (spirometry),Diabetic review,BP checks,IHD Clinic,Holiday Vaccination,Flu Vaccinations,Smears,pill check, Childhood vaccinations

5. Maintaining efficient liaison with all areas of the Primary Care Team and other agencies to assure continuity of care where necessary.

6. Routine treatment in general clinics

7. Ordering vaccine and recording

8. Monitoring fridge temperature

9. Attending meetings with GPs (clinical), practice meetings and locality meetings where necessary

10. Maintaining developmental meeting and trainings

11.Zoladex injections, Depo medication injections

12.Compression bandage application / general wound care

15.Working on CQC compliance

Qualifications:- Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)- Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification- Proven experience in a clinical setting- Strong anatomy knowledge and understanding of patient care principles- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job description

Job responsibilities

1. Meeting patients nursing care needs as identified, or where care has been transferred to her by a GP. This will usually be in surgery but for some patients home visits will also be required.

2. Initiating and maintaining health screening and promotion clinics for identified areas of the practice population.

3. Managing the nursing care of patients with chronic disease, employing practice recall systems suitable to the practice needs. This includes using EMIS WEB for input of information for recall and screening purposes. Accurate and efficient input of data for nGMS contract purposes is also required.

4. The following clinics:

Asthma / COPD Clinic (spirometry)

Diabetic review

BP checks / New patient check

IHD Clinic

Holiday Vaccination Clinic

Flu Vaccinations

Cervical Smears

Family Planning (the pill and depo injections)

Childhood vaccinations (must be able to do independently)

Qualifications

Essential

Qualifications: - Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) - Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification - Proven experience in a clinical setting - Strong anatomy knowledge and understanding of patient care principles - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
