What you'll do

As the IoT Developer, you will develop innovative IoT solutions and solve technical problems relating to the IoT systems and their data.

In this position, you will provide software development services within the business for IoT tools, including existing telemetry systems and their integration into IoT cloud solutions. You may also be involved with DevOps if and where relevant.

The role holder will work in conjunction with a team of IoT specialists (the ‘IoT Lab') delivering proof-of-value agile experiments, as well as larger projects and the maintenance of the live system on-premise and in the cloud.

Our small unit specialises in collecting data from our assets and insights into our data with an emphasis on prediction and prevention, and by giving the business as usual and management extra insights from the data collected.

We're looking for a like-minded technical enthusiast who likes to contribute, mentor and shape this section of our unit and, more importantly, loves the challenge.

What you'll need

To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will possess sound technical experience and have engaging interpersonal skills.

Your technical experience is extremely important to us, however, we can offer exciting development opportunities on the systems/software that you may not be familiar with.

You'll have valuable expertise in business software development, the Azure software stack, systems integration, and full-stack development, and ideally experience in build and deployment automation.

You will have experience using the following systems:

C#, RestAPI, MVC, ASP.net JSON and XML T-SQL, LINQ, Entity Framework, KQL Azure Data Explorer MQTT, Azure Service Bus, Azure IoT Hub Azure Serverless (Function Apps, etc) Microservices Docker JS, React Azure DevOps TDD, NUnit SOLID, DRY, KISS Security by Design and Azure Enhanced Security and Protection.

You will also have:

knowledge of IoT architectures, from devices to cloud (Devices, Gateways, Connectivity, Cloud, Analytics and Visualisation), preferably in IIoT environments experience in public cloud-based IoT infrastructure across all aspects, including performance, stability, resiliency, availability and security knowledge of Application and Cloud Infrastructure and Integration an understanding of Quality Attributes (Performance, Security, Availability, Utility, Consistency, Durable, Reliable, Efficiency, Modifiable, Portable, Reusable, Measurable, Auditable, Testable, etc) an understanding of data lifecycle a good experience and understanding of Agile methodologies an understanding of deployment pipelines would be favourable sound communciation skills The ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as independently.
