Leaving Care Personal Advisor

We are looking for a new leaving care personal advisor to join our team.

About the role

Our Care Leaver Recruitment Scheme is a transformative initiative across AfC, empowering individuals to integrate our own care leavers into vital roles within the organisation.

Personal Advisors in the Leaving Care Service take on the lead role to provide practical help and direct support/ advice to young people and young adults (Care Leavers) using the service from age 18. They also co-allocated and work alongside social workers to help support young people aged 16+ who are in care. Personal Advisors need to work as part of a team and within a multi-agency network.

About you

The right candidate will have: 

Previous Personal Advisor experience, Youth Work , Family Support Work or related field e.g. NVQ4, guidance, Youth and Community work.  Experience in direct work with young people in formal and informal settings. Experience is using a range of methods to engage and establish productive relationships with young people and engage them in their planning.  Undertaking pathway planning, completing needs assessments and providing advice, counseling and support.  Commitment to an organisational culture and the development of services that value equality and diversity [compulsory] Need to have access to a vehicle and have a valid driving license [Compulsory].
