Job summary

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated and committed Dietitian to join our friendly and proactive department.

We have an opportunity to join our Team as a Rotational Band 6 Dietitian, and provide a comprehensive nutrition and dietetics service across our three hospital sites. This position is part of an expanding team with the opportunity to help shape the future of the service.

The post is a part of our new Band 6 rotation programme and includes 9 months long rotations in oncology, neuro/stroke, ITU, and gastro/surgery.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist dietetic support to patients within the acute setting, working closely with the MDT providing specialist advice.

To make assessments using a variety of sources of information and to provide results of assessment in verbal and written formats.

To maintain a holistic approach to patient care and involving relatives, carers and appropriate care agencies whenever possible in the treatment plans and programmes

To be an integral member of the dietetic team working to ensure optimal nutritional care for patients as a key determinant of recovery and outcome.

Participation in training and education, including supporting students and Dietetic Assistant Practitioners.

Qualifications

Essential

4 year BSc degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent HCPC registered

Desirable

Evidence of on-going professional development (CPD) Trained in facilitated learning for Undergraduate Practice Placements

Experience

Essential

6-12 months clinical dietetics experience Working as part of a team

Desirable

Experience working at Band 6 level Experience with Parental Nutrition

Skills

Essential

Communication, interpersonal; and organisational skills IT and keyboard skills

Desirable

Clinical audit and reasearch skills Line management skills
