Full-time Chemistry teacher required to cover a Maternity gap within a ‘Good’ graded secondary school in the area of Ashton-in-Makerfield.

  • Full-time teaching position – Chemistry
  • Maternity Cover starting in September 2024
  • Teaching KS3 and GCSE Science to students aged 11-16
  • Pay in line with newly introduced MPS/UPS standards
  • School open to applications from teachers of all experience levels

Science is currently an extremely popular subject amongst the students in school, as the teachers focus on delivering well planned engaging and interactive lessons on a regular basis.

The teaching timetable will consist of both KS3 and GCSE Chemistry classes and its is crucial that the incoming teacher is able to deliver well planned and engaging lessons. The school require a Science teacher who can take sole responsibility of the planning and marking for their students.

This secondary school is located in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. In their most recent Ofsted report they achieved an overall grade of ‘Good’ and are consistently improving. The school is located on the outskirts of Wigan and can be accessed via the M58 Motorway. Public transportation links from Leigh, Orrell and Standish also provide a direct route to the school.
