Job summary

We are currently have a vacancy to join our department and are looking to appoint a Trainee Clinical Perfusion Scientist to join our progressive team. Applications are invited from dynamic, self-motivated and hardworking individuals. We are a well-respected and friendly department that achieves our high standards through a supportive atmosphere and strong teamwork. Applicants should be committed to a challenging but rewarding training program that will involve studying over 2 years for a MSc and being trained in the Clinical skills required to gain accreditation with the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists. The training post will require dedication, commitment and a very flexible attitude towards working.

Main duties of the job

To be trained in all aspects of adult clinical perfusion including cardiopulmonary bypass, cell salvage and other support services.

To receive training to act as qualified and autonomous practitioner to deliver clinical and professional perfusion services to the multi disciplinary team. The post holder will be trained to participate in the development of the protocols and techniques to enable the clinical group to meet its contractual and professional targets.

Experience of routine perfusion techniques Experience of clinical devices used within perfusion Full knowledge of hazards of bypass and fully equipped to manage emergency situations
