SEMH Teaching Assistant

A specialist provision school based in Chorley are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to provide extra support to its pupils.

The school is an independent, specialist day school providing high quality education for boys and girls. Based in Chorley, the school meets the needs of pupils with a range of needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, speech, language and communication difficulties, and autism.

Duties -

  • Support pupils throughout the school day, potentially following individual timetables.
  • Support pupils acoss the specialist provision and develop a good relationship and rapport with the pupils to enhance their experience.
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning.
  • Encourage and help pupils to support their speech, language and communication development.
  • Consider and tailor the choices, needs and wishes of pupils and encourage them to make the right decisions for learning.

Key Information -

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30pm) start date ASAP or 1st September 2024.
  • Term-time only role.
  • PAYE contract.
  • SEMH Provision.
  • Chorley based (PR7).
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
