Job responsibilities

What youll do

Conduct planning CT scans according to local protocols, ensuring scans are acquired safely and within guidelines Lead the team in your designated area and manage the workload effectively Take responsibility for training and educating rotational radiographers, new members of staff and students Work closely with the pre-treatment advanced practitioner to assist in all aspects of pre-treatment, including technique development and day to day running of the units.

What were looking for Knowledge and understanding of the radiotherapy pathway and the importance of pre-treatment within that pathway Treatment and pre-treatment experience as a band 5 or 6 radiographer Ability to work flexibly and dynamically as part of a larger team Excellent communication and team work

Essential

Degree in Therapeutic Radiography, or Diploma of College of Radiographers. egistration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Defined area of specialist practice/experience with caseload management

Desirable

Higher degree / Diploma in Management. Project management/educational experience Understanding of wider Radiotherapy agenda Radiotherapy specialised commissioning and service specifications

Previous or relevant experience necessary

Essential

Experience of working to a high standard with a wide variety of Radiotherapy techniques & equipment. Knowledge / Experience of modern Radiotherapy technique Ability to lead a team as well as work as a team member Ability to manage a unit, use own initiative and be punctual Be able to take instruction / directions and work within the confines of the role

Desirable

Experience and practice with the latest technological advances

Aptitudes and skills required

Essential

Highly organised Ability to lead team Ability to manage a unit and manage unplanned breakdown Excellent communication skills, (verbal and written) essential.
