Job summary

We are seeking registered nurses to work within our Endoscopy team. The ward you will be working on is busy and demanding but also rewarding and challenging with opportunities to learn and a firm belief in education you will be supported in your nursing development with an open door policy to the senior sister so you know you can always rely on having an ear to discuss your future and strive to treat all staff fairly with respect and to develop you in your chosen pathway so that we mutually benefit from working together to give the best patient care we will need very good communication skills to network closely with other departments and multidisciplinary teams, and excellent patient care to manage your caseload of patients.

Main duties of the job

The successfulcandidate will be expected to:

Carryout planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision

Ensurethe assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based,individualized patient care

Undertakenursing procedures and support patients undergoing endoscopic procedures

Managepatients in a safe and timely manner through the Endoscopy pathway,identifying patient needs and taking action as required to manage or escalateto the coordinator or Endoscopy manager

Carryout Endoscopy unit /Directorate/Divisional/Trust audits as required

Participatein the Endoscopy nurse on-call rota and help to improve patient outcomes

Assistand advise junior staff in the delivery of patient care

Job responsibilities

As an Endoscopypractitioner, youwill be responsible for the total nursing care ofindividual patients within the recovery area and ensure recovery criteria isadhered to before discharging patients. In addition to this, youwill alsoactively contribute to the maintenance of an environment that is conducive tothe delivery and promotion of a high standard of patient care. You may also berequired to support other departments such as outpatients and the ward fromtime to time.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

Previous experience of speciality.
