WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role you will be a key member of the Design Validation team as the Battery Validation Test Engineer, within the team we are responsible for functional Electrical and thermal performance, mechanical and environmental durability and certification as part of battery unit programme delivery. 

You will report to the Principal Engineer but will also work with Module and Technical Lead to work on different project requirements. 


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• Principally responsible for delivery of battery mechanical and environmental validation testing, ensuring validation test activity is delivered on time, and to the required data quality and delivery standards.
• Ensure tests executed to correct procedures & operating conditions, accurately and produce high quality data.
• Interpret vibration, mechanical shock, sled, environmental and crush test results and
• Analyse test data using nCode Glyphworks, LMS test lab, Concerto, CANalyser and Matlab
• Compile accurate technical reports for DV tests as evidence for component and system signoff and communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
• Establish, maintain and communicate accurate test plans, that clearly identify the timing and specific requirements of test facilities required.
• Support continuous improvement activity including creation and maintenance of JLR

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:
• In-depth knowledge of design principles with respect to Durability and structural failure modes
• Experience of component/system design and mechanical validation.
• Experience and proficiency in control system software and data processing using nCode Glyphworks, LMS test lab, Concerto, CANalyser and Matlab
• Understanding of design principles and the application of quality tools within a produc e engineering environment.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
