Here at Long-term Teachers we have a very exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated cover supervisor to play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs.


 

Key responsibilities:


 

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, creating a positive and productive learning environment
  • Support the implementation of EHCP’s and support as appropriate
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of the students in your classroom 
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborate with other staff members (e.g TA’s and SENCO) 


 

What our client is looking for:


 

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in an educational setting
  • Understanding of SEN and the challenges faced by students, particularly those with ASD or SEMH difficulties
  • Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEN
  • Ability to manage behaviour effectively


 

Relevant qualifications and experience in education or SEN support are desirable but not essential. Training and ongoing professional development will be provided. 


 

This is a full time position, starting in September, term time only.
