The Community Specialist Rehabilitation Service (CSRS) is an inter-disciplinary team of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology and vocational rehabilitation staff, providing assessment and interventions to patients with a range of complex physical, cognitive and behavioural needs.

Due to internal secondment, we require an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Locality 2 Community Specialist Rehabilitation Team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your clinical experience in a small and supportive interdisciplinary team based at The Walton Centre.

You will be committed to professional development. Support and learning and development opportunities are available via the service, wider Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network (CMRN) and the Walton Centre. You will be supported by the Lead Occupational Therapist and the wider interdisciplinary team with access to regular clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job

You will have post-graduate experience in neuro-rehabilitation /complex rehabilitation and will work as an autonomous practitioner carrying out a range of specialist and comprehensive evidence based Occupational Therapy interventions for patients with complex rehabilitation needs.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy. Registered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) and the Health and Care Professions Council. Evidence of relevant post graduate training relevant to complex rehabilitation

Desirable

Professional practice educator's qualification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Evidence of working with patients with Complex Rehab needs Evidence of working in an NHS environment Able to demonstrate a range of clinical skills relevant to patients with a broad range of complex rehabilitation presentations. Ability to initiate and apply evidence based practice within a clinical area. Able to manage own time to effectively manage clinical caseload and other duties Effective team player within a multi-disciplinary team. Awareness of current NHS issues and relevant frame work / quality indicators. Knowledge of current DH guidance. Evidence of Clinical Audit. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of clinical governance and its application within Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation.

Desirable

Experience of working in a community environment.

Able to use basic IT systems, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effective presentation and education skills.
