XP Fabricator/ Welder

Overview of the role: 

Reporting to the Group XP Manager (Cheadle Site), the successful candidate will join a highly focused, passionate team, working on exciting new programmes to both innovate and further extend JCB’s business growth.

Your main duties as an XP Fabricator, Welder:

• Supporting the design and development of current and future products 

• Building prototypes and test rigs

• Plating various size fabrications using detailed engineering drawings.

• Using the press developing piece parts to support various WA’s

• Welding / fabrication skills to BS standard or above

• Using MIG, TIG, welders on different materials and thicknesses

• Setting fabrications post weld to remove distortion.

• Reading and understanding engineering drawings

• Knowledge of Lathe and Miller use would be advantageous.

About you:

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Proven industry experience working within the off-highway machinery service sector

• Good working knowledge of various welding techniques and all aspects of fabrication, including plating and setting jobs.

• Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent experience.

• Enthusiastic attitude, coupled with a sense of urgency and desire to succeed

• Teamwork & communication skills

• Good Health and Safety understanding including housekeeping.

• High level of commitment to support the department to achieve deadlines.
