WHAT TO EXPECT

As the development engineer in this role you will work with a team of specialized engineers responsible for integrating complex prototype systems into the physical test environment. Your focus will span from supporting the definition of requirements to successfully completing off-rig and on-rig commissioning.

This position presents an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and excellence within the Facility & Technology Development team at JLR. You will be at the forefront of shaping the future of mobility by spearheading the development, verification, and validation of future propulsion systems.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

Support the development HV test environments and HV test rigs, including safety systems to requirements. Support the development of hardware and software strategies for the Facility & Technology Development for capital investment programmes. Support the development of hardware/software system solutions and strategies to be deployed across various test rigs & facilities, to support delivery of JLR vehicle testing plans.  Liaise with JLR teams- Chassis, Body, Propulsion & Technology teams to deliver projects. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge of vehicle HV platforms (60volts plus). Experience of HV rig system commissioning. An understanding in an Electrical, Electronics or Controls Engineering field. Knowledge of vehicle & test communications technology – Flexray, CAN, LIN, SCRAMNet, EtherCAT Ability to interpret and implement electrical system drawings (Visio, ePlan)
