Job Duties:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of each student
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials, resources, and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Provide support and guidance to students, fostering their personal, social, and emotional development
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech and language therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to student support
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, using appropriate assessment methods and tools
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate and liaise with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievements, attendance, and behaviour
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and keep abreast of current SEN practises and legislation
Required Qualifications:
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent teaching qualification preferrable
Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject
Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience working as a SEN Trained Teacher
  • Experience in planning and delivering differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with SEN
  • Experience in assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress
  • Knowledge of relevant SEN frameworks and legislation
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to support students with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals from different disciplines
  • Effective classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional qualifications or training in specific areas of SEN, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or dyslexia
  • Experience in working with specific age groups or educational settings
The School:

The school is a co educational mainstream secondary school. The have an alternative provision in whch they are in need of SEN trained teachers to help work with the children in this area. There is also HLTA's and members of support staff in this provision. They strive to create an inclusive an friendly nvironment to harbour successful lerning for all pupils.
