Job summary
To ensure the delivery of high quality clinical trials and research to the relevant sponsors of the trial / research project including the recruitment of patients, gaining informed consent, co-ordination of patients, data collection, reporting adverse events, trial coordination and data management.
To review and improve: patient recruitment into clinical trials; adhere to research governance, policy and guidelines; overall care of research participants; quality of the research data collected
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical support for individual clinical trials being run within the department. This may involve working on more than one project at any time. Responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination, management and support of patients data and administration relating to research projects being undertaken in RJAH using specific and predetermined trial protocols.To work with the project managers, Lead Research Nurse, Research Manager and PIs to improve recruitment, efficiency and effectiveness.

Job responsibilities
To actively work with departments and their staff in the hospital to enable a positive research culture and maintain effective communication . Participation in training of staff and educating patients involved in research projects and trials Maintain regular communication with members of the Trust research team and external research team Undertake and participate in training, conferences, seminars and other educational meetings as appropriate (providing feedback to nursing staff on completion of a trial etc.) to develop skills and knowledge as required for this post. Monitor progress of recruitment via electronic databases and spreadsheets where appropriate Compliance with the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care and the EU Directive for Clinical Trials Assist the Project Manager in the organisation and submission of documents required for Trust R&D approval and Research Ethics Committee approval Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
Essential
Degree in Physiotherapy or Grad Dip Phys HCPC Physiotherapist Registration CPD Portfolio with evidence

Current Good Clinical Practice certification
