Do you want to make a difference by supporting students with their academic needs before they enter the harsh reality of the working world?

We are working with a school in the Old Trafford, Stretford area, who are looking for a friendly and outgoing SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team from after the summer holidays, in September.

This is a full-time role, with working hours operating at 8:30-3:30pm. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with SEN students in a mainstream secondary school.

The role itself will involve supporting teachers in the SEN provision at the school and it is essential that candidates are outgoing and feel confident in their ability to connect with students in a short period of time. Applicants should have confidence in their ability to work 1:1 and with smaller groups of students who have mild SEN requirements such as Autism and ADHD.

It is essential that candidates are flexible and adaptable so that they can offer high quality academic support in various subjects. It is also important for encourage students who are extremely passionate about the matter. It would be beneficial for applicants to have previous experience supporting students with English as an Additional Language.

Expectations of applicants:

-          The ability to be flexible and work closely with all departments to identify and help those students that need additional support.

-          It is essential that applicants can build relationships and connect with students in a short space of time.

-          Candidates must be organised and have experience operating in 1:1 and small group environments.

-          Have previous experience working as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant or Behavioural Support Assistant (desirable).

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications/experience and the Right to Work in the UK in order to be considered for this role. In addition, applicants must have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to pay for an updated one) and provide an Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and 2 professional references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
