Job summary

The post holder will establish and maintain an effective clinical educational environment within PICU that supports staff in the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care to infants, children and young people and their families. They will deliver a program of training and education that facilitate the on-going professional development for all elves of registered and non-registered practitioners. The post holder will be overall responsible for educational needs of the bands 2-4 within PICU. The post holder will act as an expert resource and demonstrate clinical expertise in the delivery of intensive care. They will be expected to maintain a clinical profile and work within the clinical environment both independently and supporting and developing staff clinical educational requirements. The post holder will ensure education is delivered to support the national KPI for Paediatric Intensive Care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be primarily responsible for the educational needs and delivery of the bands 2-4 on educational programs or newly appointed to PICU. The post holder will also support the following as part of the wider PICU education team requirements:

Pastoral support of all staff on an educational program across all levels of education. Education support across all levels of educational support Clinical support shifts for all levels of PICU staff Completion of BLS train the trainer course completion of staff PDRs within the context of role. Simulation support Equipment and policy updates EDI interview panel (course will be supported if not already completed)
