If so, a special educational needs school in the Liverpool area is looking for dedicated 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team.

About Us: The school is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students with special educational needs. We focus on individualized education plans and have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) in place for all their students to ensure they receive the best possible support tailored to their unique needs.

Role and Responsibilities: As a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a specific student, helping them navigate their educational journey. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to a designated student with special educational needs.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with the student to understand their unique challenges and strengths.
  • Assisting with the implementation of the student’s EHCP, ensuring that their educational, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Using your initiative to adapt teaching methods and support strategies to suit the student’s needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Encouraging and guiding the student to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Setting a positive example through reliability, consistency, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience working as a teaching assistant, particularly with students who have special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Reliability, patience, and the ability to use your initiative.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards problem-solving and teamwork.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
