An award-winning Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join the permanent staff at their esteemed independent special school in Gloucestershire. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to KS4 students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet individual student requirements.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and developments in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with KS4 students in an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and SEN-specific teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and needs.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to contribute positively to the school community.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications or training in SEN education.
  • Experience with various assistive technologies and adaptive learning tools.
