Glasgow, United Kingdom NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is rotational days and nights.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Emergency Department/Minor Injury Unit and Victoria ACH Minor Injury Unit for an experienced registered nurse, with ED and ENP experience, to join as a senior member of the team. There are two full time posts available.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual, with a tenacity for Emergency Department, Advanced Practice and a Minor Injury leadership role, who have passion and development goals towards progressing to band 7. Applicants should have good knowledge of working in an Emergency Department and have experience of working at band 6 level. You must be able to demonstrate commitment to patient-centred care, whilst supporting adherence to unscheduled care performance and ensuring that quality standards and key performance indicators are met.

MIU ANPS autonomously assess, treat and discharge patients where necessary, will refer to appropriate in-patient specialities, primary care agencies and other healthcare professionals. This role therefore requires an expert knowledge and clinical skillset to manage minor injury presentations as an autonomous practitioner and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team where necessary.

The successful applicant will be an NMC Registered Nurse, hold a post registration HEI accredited qualification in the management of minor injuries and possess sufficient emergency care or MIU experience.

Completion of advanced clinical assessment or Independent Prescribing is desirable.

The post is open to prospective Trainee ANPs (tANP). the tANP will be employed on Annex 21 terms whilst undergoing a supported training pathway to achieve ANP sign off.

The post is full time (37 hrs/week) across 7 days; 12 hr shifts.
