We are hiring an Analytical Chemist to join our team based in High Wycombe. This is a varied role in which you will in which you will be involved right from sample preparation through to extraction giving wide exposure to different testing methods. This role requires an individual who is passionate about food analysis and keen to expand their knowledge. You will assist in providing a vitamins & additives testing service to Premier Foods Group and external clients.

The Role

To undertake routine HPLC and LC-MS/MS based analyses within the Vitamins & Additives team. To prioritise and organise the completion of work to assist the team in meeting customers’ deadlines. To undertake training to broaden knowledge of food analysis and analytical techniques. To use LIMS for data entry and finding sample related information. To ensure that all work complies with health and safety regulations, including COSHH. To maintain laboratories in a safe, tidy and clean manner, including basic HPLC maintenance. To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the UKAS accredited quality system. To carry out work necessary to help maintain UKAS accreditation.

The Key Requirements

Good practical skills in general chemical analysis, with an emphasis on HPLC Attention to detail Solid time-keeping and organisational ability; self-motivated – the role involves working to deadlines Good interpersonal skills; comfortable working closely with other team members Generally proficient in the use of IT – the role relies on the use of chromatography software, LIMS and MS Excel (training for specific software provided)
